Long tradition as a family business
The history of the "Stadler master smith dynasty", which has lasted for more than 200 years, began with a village forge in Altshausen. Over the years, the company became a locksmith's shop – and after the second World War it had become a thriving metal construction company.
The early seventies marked the beginning of a new era, which continues to this day. As a contract during the 1972 Olympic Games, STADLER developed novel waste glass and waste paper containers for the city of Munich. This was STADLER’s first development in the recycling industry.
STADLER today
Since the early 1990s, STADLER has evolved into a modern, successful plant engineering company, specializing in conveyor and sorting technology for the recycling industry.
In 1991, Willi Stadler joined the family business and, in 1998, took over the management in the seventh generation. Since 2011, he has been joined by Claus Maier as CFO.
In 2025, Julia Stadler, a member of the eighth generation, was appointed Co-CEO. Previously, as Chief Digital Officer, she was responsible for driving the company’s digital transformation. With her strategic mindset, international experience, and strong focus on innovation and sustainability, she plays a key role in shaping STADLER’s ongoing development.
Together, the management team embodies continuity, innovative strength, and a clear vision, guiding STADLER as a family-run company into a successful future.
